Capsules Are a Simple Solution But Other Methods Have Their Benefits
Kratom is a fairly new product here in the Western world, and it has already raised a lot controversy. However, myths about its negative side effects and addictive nature are largely a result of ignorance about the product and of the pharmaceutical industry’s bias against it. When taken in the correct dosage and manner, Kratom can be a wonderful supplement.
It’s new to many people in the US, but Kratom had actually been used for hundreds of years before it became popular. People have used it for treating chronic pain, stress, anxiety, substance abuse, and many other illnesses. There are many uses for this “wonder plant,” and many ways to ingest it, so you can find the perfect set up for you.
Below is our “Top 10 List” of ways you can consume Kratom. (We prefer #1, the “Wash Toss Wash” method, as it is the least time-consuming way to efficiently get Kratom into your system.)
1. Wash, toss, wash.
When working with leaf powder, this seems to be the best way to consume kratom to get the desired effect in the most efficient manner. Take 2 cups, one with your kratom in it and one filled with water. Drink some water first to get your mouth and throat prepped. Take another sip and leave it in your mouth. Then take some kratom out of your other cup and swallow it with the water that’s already in your mouth. Finally, flush it all down with another chug of water. Repeat this process of mixing it with water in your mouth and then chasing it with pure sips of water until you have finished the kratom.
2. Drink kratom tea.
If you want something that goes down more smoothly, you could have a hot cup of kratom tea. You can use full, dry kratom leaves and strain them out after brewing, or you can use kratom powder dissolved directly into the water. Simply boil your dosage of kratom in water for about 20 minutes. You could leave it in a little while longer than 20 minutes if you want a stronger taste. Once it’s done, pour yourself a cup and enjoy!
3. Make a smoothie.
Smoothies can be a great addition to your diet. You can mix several types of fruit with kratom and enjoy a healthy, tasty drink. A kratom smoothie makes a wonderful breakfast, post-workout snack, or even dessert. Just pick a liquid base, like almond milk, fruit juice, or yogurt, and then add any fruits you like. Bananas work great to add texture to any smoothie, and they can help mask the bitter taste of the plant. Blend it all together with your preferred dosage of kratom powder. (Add liquid if it won’t mix easily in the blender. Adding some ice, or freezing some of your fruit ingredients can help with the texture of the smoothie.)
4. Mix kratom with Greek yogurt or something similar.
This is a fresh combination that can be served as a standalone meal or as a side dish. For example, you could use it as a sauce for steaks and other types of meat or as a salad dressing. You could also top kratom yogurt with fruit, or use it in a smoothie.
5. Take kratom capsules.
You could buy kratom in the form of powder or capsules. It is easier to consume that way, and you could do it more often. Having kratom capsules is like taking any other medication. You take them with water, or any other liquid. It’s a great option in terms of convenience, since you could take them anywhere and anytime. Moreover, they conceal the taste of the plant; it is literally an easy pill to swallow. Always be sure to take the right dosage for you.
6. Smoke it.
If you are a smoker, this will be an easy task for you. You could use Kratom as a replacement for tobacco. Roll it in a paper like a cigarette or smoke it with a pipe by putting a small amount of leaves in it. You could smoke it on its own or mix the plant with tobacco, to enrich the taste.
7. Use it as an ingredient for cooking.
As with other ingredients, like paprika, salt, or pepper, kratom could be used to spice up food, too. For instance, you could mix a little bit of kratom powder in cookie batter, or in a sauce, or perhaps as an addition to your soup. Whatever your choice, it’ll likely fit with the taste, since it can go well just about any dish.
8. Mix it with alcohol.
If you like to have a drink from time to time, you could mix vodka or whiskey with a little bit of kratom, and give your taste buds an interesting experience. It would certainly add something special to the drink, making it more enjoyable. It is important to note that alcohol may interfere with your desired affects of kratom, but it’s not unsafe if you use precaution and take both in moderation.
9. Try the toss and wash method.
This is probably the most common way to use kratom. You take a spoon of kratom powder and toss it inside your mouth, just like you would do with a spoonful of sugar. Then, you drink a sip of water (or as much as you need) to wash it down. But, before you actually swallow, swish the water around in your mouth a little, the same way you do with mouthwash.

Lastly, you could try the simple option of mixing kratom powder with water or juice. Take a glass of water, warm or cold – whichever you prefer – and add your dosage of kratom powder. Stir with a spoon until it’s blended evenly throughout the liquid. You could do this with almost any soft beverage.
